AKADEMIKA: Journal of Filipino Studies is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access journal dedicated to advancing scholarly research on Filipino society, culture, language, education, governance, and development. It provides a platform for original research, review articles, conceptual and policy papers, and case studies that explore Filipino experiences in both local and global contexts.
The journal promotes interdisciplinary scholarship, encouraging contributions across areas such as Filipino studies, education, language and literature, history and culture, indigenous knowledge systems, psychology and sociology, governance, economics, migration, media, and community development. It aims to foster critical dialogue and deepen understanding of the diverse and evolving Filipino identity.
AKADEMIKA operates under a full open-access policy, ensuring that all published articles are freely accessible worldwide. Authors retain copyright of their work, and articles are published under standard open-access terms. The journal follows a rigorous peer-review process with a review and publication timeline of 9–12 months, and it does not charge any Article Processing Fees (APC).
